Artist's Comments

This ornate necklace was hand made by me using elegant Vintaj raw brass findings mixed with my own handcrafted porcelain face stone and charms.

I made this necklace as a gift to myself, as part of my costume for Faerie Con in Philly, Oct 2007, which I was fortunate to be able to attend. I wore this necklace with my fairy costume as I met Brian and Wendy Froud for the first time, and babbled incoherently in their greatness, lol! I met lost of other great artists there too! T'was much fun!

I love the warm quality of the filigree metal and the way it embraces the porcelain of my beads; it is a natural match in my eyes. These pieces have elements of Renaissance, Art Nouveau, and Victorian ornament all rolled into one.

Earthenwood beads and components are handcrafted from fine porcelain clay, and fired to over 2300 degrees F.

Thank you so much for making this a Daily Deviation! I am so proud!

Daily Deviation, 2008-02-29

Daily DeviationThis is a unique jewelry creation. ~earthenwood skillfully crafted custom fired ceramic pieces to fit with other components and combined it all using a variety of techniques in this stunning neckpiece. There is an interesting combination of different materials and the rich colors compliment each other beautifully in Fairy Parade Necklace. Earthy while dramitic enough for a Goddess! Thanks so much! The brass is really delicious to work with, it sort of all puts itself together...
